The Pathwork Guide explores how a perfect creation came to fall into disharmony. At the center of this story is the gift of free will—a divine endowment that made true union with God possible, but also opened the door to separation.
In the beginning, all beings lived in harmony. The turning point came through temptation: a curiosity to use divine power in a way that opposed truth. When the first being—later known as Lucifer—gave in, a gradual process of distortion began.
Nothing changed all at once. Instead, divine qualities slowly twisted into their opposites: love into hatred, light into darkness, unity into separation.
These distortions gave rise to different inner states, which in turn created entire worlds—both harmonious and disharmonious. What we call “hell” is not a punishment imposed by God, but a natural result of distorted consciousness.
Importantly, this story is not just cosmic—it is personal. Every fault we carry is a distorted version of a once-divine quality. Our task is not to condemn ourselves, but to recognize and transform these distortions.
Even after the Fall, divine law remains intact. Through our choices, growth, and willingness to return to truth, the path back to unity with God is always open.
